Sermon Theme

posted Aug 1, 2017, 9:26 AM by St. Paul UMC Church

In the month of July we heard Pastor John’s favorite Bible verses.  Now he would like to hear from us to help prepare our worship times this fall.  Please write a note, email or leave a phone message as to a Sermon Theme idea you have.  As you prepare to invite friends and family to worship this fall, what theme would you like the scripture/sermon to touch upon?  Our December theme will culminate on Dec 24th as we celebrate the coming of Christ into the world.  (Note: Dec 24th is on a Sunday so we will have services at 8:15; 9:45; 11:00am and our traditional Christmas Eve services of 5:00, 7:00 and 10:00pm.

8:15 am Traditional Sunday am worship

9:45 am  Praise Service in Family Life Center

11:00 am A special daytime Christmas Eve worship! This daytime service will be similar to our Christmas Eve style of worship and will allow daytime drivers to share the joy of Christmas Eve.

5:00 pm Children/Family Christmas Eve in Sanctuary

7:00 pm Praise Christmas Eve in FLC

10:00 pm Traditional Christmas Eve in Sanctuary

The Administrative Council met on July 19th. At that time the Council affirmed Youth Sunday to be held on August 20th at the 11:00 am service (this will not be a combined service day). The Council began plans for Christmas! December 24th is on Sunday this year. We will have our 3 services Sunday morning. As a special celebration we will have a Christmas Eve style worship service at the 11:00 am service. This will allow any who prefer not to drive at night to celebrate Christmas Eve together. We will continue to have our regular Christmas Eve Services at 5:00, 7:00, and 10:00 pm that night. Finally, the Wednesday Evening Meal planners/coordinators are stepping down. Those who are interested in this Wednesday evening meal and are willing to provide leadership to renew this ministry please see Pastor John or Ken Poper.

Getting to Know You Events

posted Jul 27, 2017, 9:09 AM by St. Paul UMC Church

Getting to Know You Events! A series of small group gatherings are being organized to allow Pastor John and Jane to get to know us better and for us to get to know them. These informal, relaxed, times of conversation allow us to share our hopes and dreams for St Paul UMC and to consider where God may be leading us in our next faithful steps as a congregation. If you would be willing to host such a small group event in your home, at a local restaurant, or here at the church please connect with Pastor John to select a date and to learn more.

Yard Sale

posted Jul 10, 2017, 5:48 AM by St. Paul UMC Church

All proceeds benefit missions through United Methodist Women.

Thursday, September 7              8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Friday, September 8                  8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

                                                          Saturday, September 9               8:00 AM – Noon

St. Paul United Methodist Women greatly appreciates your past generous support for our Yard Sale for Missions.  We ask you once again to please consider donating items, providing baked goods, & volunteering your time for this year’s sale.

DONATIONS for the yard sale may be dropped off in the Mizpah Classroom (A-6) from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Monday through Friday beginning Monday, AUGUST 7 through Friday, SEPTEMBER 1.  Call Erma Norcross at 263-8108 or Linda Strickler at 263-4975 if you need to arrange a special time to drop off your donation or to have someone pick up items. Do not leave items under the Family Life Center portico or on the porch of the office!  NO TELEVISIONS!

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS – on Tuesday, September 5, beginning at 9:00 AM to move the items to the Family Life Center and arrange them for the sale.   Usually, we work until early afternoon setting up.  Whatever time you can give is greatly appreciated!

We welcome any help you can give during the actual sale too. People are always needed to “straighten” up the tables and offer assistance to shoppers.

We still can use baked goods (pies, brownies, and cookies, candy, etc.).  Items may be dropped off in the kitchen/FLC beginning Wednesday, September 6.

Help with take-down on Saturday, September 9, would be appreciated.  We begin about noon packing up left over items, taking down tables, etc., and are usually done by about 2:00 PM.    We would be grateful for any help you could give.

And one last request – please come shop!
