                 ST. JOHN’S SUMMER SINGERS

St. Paul United Methodist Church Special Events is pleased to host St. John’s Summer Singers in concert on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at 3:00 PM, in the church nave located at 750 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA.  Under the direction of Gary Crum and accompanied by Gloria Crum and Eileen Hoffman-Meier, the choir will entertain all with a wide selection of sacred, spiritual, secular, and patriotic music.  This is the tenth year of performing by this 70-member choir.  The choir is comprised of individuals from 22 different local churches who come together each summer simply because they love to sing.  They will present eight concerts this summer.  There is no admission charge for the concert.  The church is handicapped accessible.  For more information, contact the church office at 717-267-3085 or Linda Strickler at 717-263-4975.

   Jesus Among Secular Gods

by Ravi Zacharias and Vince Vitale

Starting June 3 at 11am in the Church Library

Although the secular philosophies floating around our culture can be intriguing, they have no real substance. But could you argue against them effectively? This six-session Bible study will equip you to challenge the gods of our day: atheism, scientism, pluralism, hedonism, relativism, and humanism. Join us and learn how to point out the fallacies in their claims and to present compelling evidence for the absolute truth found in Jesus.

Sermon Series

Summer Sermon Series

The summer of 2018 looks to be an engaging time of worship here at St. Paul United Methodist Church! The Summer Sermon Series will be “Reality Based Faith”. These services will be a time when we openly, faithfully, and scripturally address the questions, concerns, doubts, and wonders of our faith in Christ. This will help us then share with others who have such questions of faith with honesty, integrity, and clarity.

This sermon series is also exciting in that we get to help create the series! Please share questions of faith that you have or that others have presented to you. For example, we briefly touched upon the question,  “Do you really think you can talk to God and that God talks to you?” in a previous worship service. So, talk to others and see what questions or issues they have with Christianity. Email those questions to jkratz@susumc.org or write them out and place them in the offering plate or Pastor John’s mail slot. Thank you for helping to make this summer an exciting time of having a reality-based faith.
