On Wednesday evenings in January, Pastor John will be leading us in a time of learning, Bible Study, and fellowship entitled "When United Methodists Disagree". This will help us to be prepared for questions and concerns related to the February 2019 General Conference meeting addressing the Commission of a Way Forward report relating to inclusion of LGTBQ persons within the denomination. Though this specific issue and General Conference is the main impetus for such a learning series, we will find this series helpful as we address concerns, changes, or disagreements within our congregation. We will learn the concepts/terms of Holy Conferencing, and Church/Annual/General Conferences. We will review the Commission on a Way Forward information and the processes of the General Conference. We will also look at Biblical responses to disagreements within the body of Christ. "When United Methodists Disagree" meetings will be Wednesday evenings on January 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Family Life Center. We will be prompt with our start and end times.
