Sunday, June 3, 3:00 PM

Special Events is pleased to host The Appalachian Wind Quintet in concert on Sunday, June 3, at 3:00 PM in the nave. The concert will feature classical and some patriotic selections including pieces composed by Still, Sweelinck, Cambini, and others.  A free will offering will be taken.

The Appalachian Wind has distinguished itself as one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s finest woodwind chamber ensembles.  With broad experience as soloists, symphonic, and small ensemble musicians for many years, the members of the group join to form their finely unique musical cohesion. They have received numerous distinctions and awards including the designation as a Maryland Art Treasure.  Members of the Appalachian Wind Quintet are flutist Barbara Spicher; oboist Ed Stanley (whom we have enjoyed in the past as a soloist during our summer worship services); clarinetist Rick Mogensen; bassoonist Scott Cassada; and horn player Stephen Pastena.
